Joining AFC in the Covid Era

TPJOINING AL FALAAH COLLEGE IN THE COVID ERA

Alhamdullilah with the grace of the Almighty, I joined Al Falaah College in October this year. Being in the teaching field for many years now, one would expect the transition to be smooth sailing. However, as I reflect on the weeks gone by, an apt quote comes to mind:-

“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”
-Jon Kabat-Zan

That’s exactly what I had to learn to do. Joining a new school during a pandemic was no easy task. Day by day the waves kept coming my way but I had to keep afloat, amidst the commotion in the ocean. There were days when I felt like my ship was sinking and as a captain I was steering in the wrong direction, but as I look back on the ‘storm’ that has passed, I am grateful for every moment of it. The saying goes that:-
“Seamen learn to get to know each other during a storm.”
-Corsican proverb

I can vouch for the fact that the seamen at Al Falaah College are not just a crew, they are a family. My ship was able to stay afloat because of their support and care. Every single team member including management, admin, IT, finance, logistics and teachers from other faculties, steered me out of the storm. Most of all, I am truly blessed to be a sailor in an amazing crew, our Preschool Team. I would like to thank the Al Falaah family for the strong nets you have in place and for making me a skilled sailor. I now truly believe that:-
“Sometimes the best results come when you are thrown into the deep end.”
-Natalie Cook

Shukar Alhamdullilah!
Let’s keep sailing high…..
Tasnim Ma’am
